Finally the weather began to clear up a little and eventually turned into a lovely day once we reached the summit. The route we had planned was to head up to the bench which offered a lovely view over Windermere and then north west along the summit ridge to the Trig Point. The route down would be strep but takes us straight to Loughrigg Tarn. We had most of the family up there with us too which was a lovely treat to enjoy this all together. A walk in rememberence of those lost...

Lush fields next to Loughrigg Campsite.

The clouds beginning to break up.

Over that way would be Black Fell.

Parts of the fell coming out of the cloud.

Admiring the atmospheric view towards Wetherlam.

There's hope for the weather yet!

Windermere from the viewing bench. The amount of times I have been here and the view is always spectacular.

Zooming in on Windermere with Waterhead to the left.

The expedition party...

A little stop here for some lunch.

Nab Scar and Heron Pike coming out of the cloud.

Low Pike.

A wider shot of the view north.

After a short steep section the view back opens up.

Wetherlam and the Coniston Fells free of cloud and Crinkle Crags to the right.

Black Fell.

The cairn near Ivy Crag.

Looking into Great Langdale.

Loughrigg Tarn below.

Lingmoor Fell and Crinkle Crags behind.

Whats this! Blue Sky!

And as if my bagic the blue sky stuck around for the rest of the day! This view shows the Vale of Grasmere. Thats Helm Crag in the shade.

A little bit of Scafell next to Bowfell.

The summit Trig.

Sunshine on Elterwater.

A classic scene from Loughrigg Fell.

Busy up here on the summit at the moment!

The Fairfield group of fells.

A sunny Trig Point.

Low Pike again.

The view south east to Windermere.

The summit of Loughrigg Fell.

A view down to Loughrigg Tarn. A great place to rest.

And from the same spot looking into Great Langdale.

The Langdale Pikes.

Windermere beyond Ivy Crag.

Now down at the Tarn.

Beautiful and tranquil Loughrigg Tarn.

Overwatched by Loughrigg Fell.

Reflections in the water.

A perfect scene.

Time to sit and take a moment...

This has to be one of the most beautiful scenes in Lakeland.
