Our final full day in the Lakes and the weather sure turned in on us! Comparing to the sunny warm day we had yesterday, today was set to be low blanket cloud and heavy snow - and it was just that. I realised I had not been up Troutbeck Tongue for quite some time so chose to do a walk up to the summit as it was more likely to be out of the cloud thanks to its low height.

Troutbeck Church.

Looking across to the misty snow-covered fellside.

Troutbeck valley.

The path ahead with Troutbeck Tongue looming in the distance.

The fellside on my right.

Troutbeck Tongue. As you can see the snowline is down to about 200m.

Footprints in the snow as I make my way to the summit.

Looking down to the valley floor below.

The summit be just a little further...

The summit cairn and a little bit of a view.

Looking south from the Cairn.

The summit.

I used the same path for descent as used in the ascent which is rather steep in places and after a rather hazardous walk down I finally made it to the valley floor and can enjoy the views back to the fell.
