Route: The Gainsborough Trail through Sudbury Meadows

I have been aimingto do a local walk along the Gainsborough Trail for some time but never really got round to it. It takes you through the beautiful Water Meadows and along a stretch of the old railway line that once linked Sudbury to Long Melford and beyond.

The Valley Trail sign marks the very start ofthe Gainsborough Trail.

The waymarks for the route. The information board states it will eventually make a 13 mile route around Sudbury but nothing has ever materialised.

The Quay Theatre.

The River Stour.

Part of the meadows.

Crossing the meadows towards the Mill Hotel.

The large pool outside the Mill Hotel.

The old victorian swimming pool.

Grade 2 Listed Brundon Mill.

Back on the Valley Trail.

Following the old railway line back to the Leisure Centre.
