Barf
Wainwright - The North Western Fells
Height: 468m (1535ft)
Barf is famous for its white washed rock known as 'The Bishop of Barf' which can be seen for miles around. The views from its rocky summit are excellent, with a profile of Skiddaw to the east and views down the steep fellside to Bassenthwaite Lake. Its location on the north western side of the lake district allows for unrestricted view north, over Binsey to the Scottish hills beyond.
