| One of the most recognisable peaks in the Lakes with its distinctive 'upside down basin' shape. Great Gable not only offers a great challenge to climb, but also offers spectacular views down to Wasdale and Wast Water from the Wesmorland Cairn. For people looking for a scramble, you can cross its south face to Great and Little Hell Gate to see the Sphinx, the Cat Rock and also Napes Needle (which is a favourite for climbers). | ||
