| Hard Knott is a peak of moderate height just north of the pass of the same name. From the top of the pass the moutain is easily accessed with just a short sharp ascent to reach the summit. The pass to the south is widely known as the most difficult pass in the Lake District with sections of 1in3 throughout. The mountain has its own Roman Fort on its western shoulder used to defend the route between the Forts at Ravenglass and Ambleside. | ||
