Yewbarrow
Wainwright - The Western Fells
Height: 628m (2060ft)
Yewbarrow is a fantastic mountain in the Wasdale Valley which resembles an upturned boat. Linked with Red Pike and up onto Pillar via a long ridge, it is often climbed as part of the Mosedale Horseshoe. There are two summits to the mountain, the higher one is 628m and the lower is 616m. The lower summit is to the north of the higher one. The name is derived from the past prevalence of yew trees on the fell and its "barrow" shape
